ARTWORK INSTRUCTIONS

Need help getting your files ready? Read these instructions carefully & check out our templates! Do you have a question? Please fill in our contact form.

Document Colors

  • Use RGB color mode to prepare your files, not CYMK.
  • While using the color black, set the color to #000000 / rgb(0,0,0)
  • Enter the desired Pantone or HKS colors in to the color channel when using special colors
  • Use greyscale color mode when ordering a greyscale item.
  • Create grey areas in shades of black to ensure a perfect print result in greyscale.

Files in Original Size

  • Create your files for printing in their original size (the final size).
  • An artwork that is too small or too large has to be scaled to the correct print size. This results in a reduced quality final result.
  • Avoid unnecessary waste by using our templates.

The Right Bleed

  • Always add bleed to your files to allow leeway for cutting differences in production.
  • The bleed size may differ per product. Please refer to the relevant product page for an accurate bleed size.

Safety Margin

  • For best results, keep all of your important content away from the edge of the finished size.
  • The safety margin can differ per product and finish. For example, the safety margin for banners with grommets must be larger than 5 cm. Please refer to the relevant product page for accurate margins.
  • Make sure background pictures, colors and layouts do extend in to the bleed area to prevent white lines as a result of cutting tolerances.

Data lists

  • When we fill in your data on your file/design, we accept the data as an Excel file.
  • We do not process written lists, photos of data or something similar.
  • Create different columns for different data as it should appear on your print job. Is the surname written separately from the first name? Then process them in two different columns. Is it written together? Then process it in 1 column. Please also pay attention to the spelling of the date of birth. How would you like it to appear on your print job?

Embedded Fonts & Paths

  • Convert all of your fonts & paths to outlines to prevent printing problems (or if we do not have the exact font on our systems).
  • Allow sufficient contrast between font colors and background colors.

Page Numbers

  • Check all of your superfluous pages have been deleted.
  • For multi-page files, create each page in sequential order, starting with page 1 (front page) and continuing on until the last page (back page).

Image Resolutions

  • Business cards & badges 300 dpi.
  • Color images up to the size of 85 x 120 cm – 150 dpi.
  • Large format prints – 72 dpi.
  • Grand format prints from 50 square meters in size – 50 dpi

Line Weights

  • All lines should be at least 0.25 pt.
  • We automatically increase lines that are too thin to a printable weight
  • Don’t use borders as a way to define layouts as due to mechanical tolerances these might be cut into and show up on the final product.

File Formats

  • Save your files in print ready, vector file formats such as PDF, EPS, AI, PSD, JPG, PNG, TIFF, CDR.
  • Reduce all layers in to a single, flat, background layer.

Embedded images

  • When you provide an AI, EPS or PSD file, make sure that all images are embedded.

Badges, Chromaluxe & Slates

  • Please note that the images on badges, chromaluxe prints and slates will darken during the printing process. Deliver the images lighter so that the images don’t get too dark.
